The temple commemorates its history's milestones with special Buddhist ceremonies and banquets.

For the 4th of July in 2006, Sozenji had its very first fireworks booth as a temple fundraiser. Located in Sozenji's parking lot, the booth attracted local residents and temple members' family and friends.

Obon is the largest Buddhist observance of the year. It takes place at Sozenji in mid-July with a variety of food booths and entertainment.
